John Peel's Perfumed Garden - 12th. July 1967

Peel on the Galaxy

I'm indebted once again to Colin Ellis for this one.

This is the first two thirds (80min) of a Perfumed Garden show that I'd not heard before. Here, we find John refreshed from a week's shore leave and armed with "all kinds of beautiful records for you". Also features Peel reading the weather and discussing entries to the "Zodiac Cosmic Sounds" contest. A very beautiful thing, you see.

If you like this sort of thing, you might like to know that my upload of Guy Brown's reconstruction of the final Perfumed Garden is still being seeded here after more than 18 months. (You'll need to be bittorrent-literate to get it.)

Play/Download (72.8MB, 79:31, MP3)

Wondeful stuff. Many thanks for this. This was my first introduction to TPG and I am surprised by quite how much I love it - being born 5 years after this was broadcast. However I am now a convert, even though John sounds like he needs a good night's sleep on this one. A cultural artefact of the highest order. Thanks again!
